December 2nd-6th, Festival Of Trees & Lights at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa: This family-friendly event features lavishly decorated holiday trees, wreaths and décor, local entertainment, a kids’ craft area, photos with Santa, a Teddy Bear Hospital, and opportunities to give back to the community through the silent auction and raffle. December 4th-6th, Winter Ignite, Heavenly’s Season Kick Off Festivities at Heavenly Mountain Resort: This celebration features on-mountain activities, mountain concerts at the casinos and a free headliner concert with Matt and Kim. For more info, click here.
December 4th & 5th, Warren Miller’s Chasing Shadow Film at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe: 7:30pm, $17.87. Warren Miller Entertainment introduces its 66th snowsports film featuring JT Holmes, Seth Wescott, Caroline Gleich,and more as they pursue turns on mountains most of us only dream about. December 4th, Meyers Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Divided Sky Parking Lot: 5:00pm, free. Come enjoy the holiday spirit as 10,000 lights are lit and enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, popcorn, Holiday Fire Truck, Santa’s visit via a special sled (CalStar Helicopter) and more! December 4th & 6th, A Feast of Spanish Traditional Carols and Lullabies at Lake Tahoe Community College & St. Theresa’s Church: 7:30pm on Friday at the college and 4:30pm on Sunday at St. Theresa’s. $12 for adults and $10 for children, students and seniors. Children 5 and under are free. This musical feast will feature Russian, German, French, or American musical flavors. December 5th, The Barton Health Gala at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa: 5:30pm, $200 per person. This is the Foundation’s largest annual fundraising event. Featuring a live auction, silent auction, multi-course dinner, champagne greeting, wine, and featured cocktail, the Gala is the black-tie fundraising event with proceeds from the Gala benefit the Foundation’s Community Health Endowment. December 5th, Light up South Lake Tahoe Holiday Event & Tree Lighting at Stateline to the shops at The “Y”: 6:00pm, free. Businesses along Highway 50 will turn on their lights in a wave and “Light up South Lake Tahoe” as the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department truck, South Lake Tahoe Police Department Command Vehicle and Snow Plows are decorated in festive holiday lights and drive by. December 5th, Zawadisha’s Annual Holiday Bazaar at The Blue Angel Cafe: 10:00am-3:00pm. This free event features local artisans and unique finds so people can shop locally this year. Zawadisha is a non profit program that helps finance Kenyan women. For more info, click here.

December 5th, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. $50-$60 at 9:00pm:  British drummer and son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer, John Bonham will be bringing the Zeppelin experience to Lake Tahoe. For more info, click here.

December 7th-12th, LTVA’S Drive & Drop for Christmas Cheer at Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority CA Center: LTVA & Tahoe Refuse are teaming up to take donations for Christmas Cheer. Christmas Cheer feeds over 450 families so all donations help. For more info, call (530) 541-5255.

December 9th, LTCC Rock Ensemble Concert at Lake Tahoe Community College: $5 at the door, 7:00pm start time. MUS248A Beginning Rock Ensemble musicians will be performing classic rock n’ roll hits while the MUS131CB Heavy Metal students will perform old school metal hits by Ozzy Osbourne, Deep Purple, and more. For more info, call (530) 541-4660.

December 11th, Tahoe Adventure Film Festival at Mont Bleu Resort Casino & Spa: 7:30pm-9:30pm $20-$30: The Tahoe Adventure Film Festival (TAFF) is is not your typical film festival. It  highlights the best adventure sports films of the year while showcasing the action sports world best talent. The night also includes, break dancers, guest speakers, action photo displays, DJs, and of course some other special surprises. December 12th, Matt & Kim at Heavenly Village: Free, 7:30pm. This alternative Brooklyn dance duo are high eneregy and will ring in the ski season at Heavenly Village. For more info, click here.

December 12th, Annual Holiday Parade From Ski Run Blvd To The TJ Maxx Parking Lot at the Y: Free, 3:00pm. At the end of the parade, there will be Santa, cookies, and cocoa. There will also be a box to donate toys to Christmas Cheer. For more info, call (530) 544-7412.

December 12th, Cruise With Santa On The M.S. Dixie at Zephyr Cove: $55 per adult, 12 and under free. 12:00pm-2:00pm. This great family event will allow for pictures and a special meet and greet with Santa Claus. For more info, call (530) 543-6191.

December 12th, Jim Belushi And The Board Of Comedy at Mont Bleu Resort Casino and Spa: $35-$45, Doors open at 7:00pm, show begins at 8:00pm. If you love improv comedy, you can’t miss this. You may even get included as this comedic group likes to involve the audience. For more info, click here.

December 15th, Shred for Sushi Rail Jam for Charity at Sushi Pier: 5:30pm, free to attend, $20 to compete.  This year’s Shred for Sushi event will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. There will be a rail jam competition for skiers and snowboarders of all ages; live DJ’s spinning; food and drink specials; and local vendor booths and a huge raffle with prizes from event sponsors. December 16th, Tahoe Talks Brown Bag Lunch Series at Lake Tahoe Community College: 12:00pm-1:30pm, free. The Tahoe Metro Planning Organization and its partners feature a monthly lunchtime forum for learning and sharing ideas that strengthen the local community. Topics focus on transportation, environmental, and economic ideas that are pertinent to current issues.  This months topic is Uniting Tahoe’s Communities: Addressing Prosperity for Tahoe’s Residents. December 16th Jennifer Quashnick’s “Sierra Nevada River of Lives” at Lake Tahoe Community College: 6:00pm, free.  Friends of the Library present local author Jennifer Quashnick and her newest Mountaingirl Mystery- Sierra Nevada River of Lies. Jennifer will share details about this book, all of which fictitiously took place in the Sierras. December 18th TOCCATA Presents 10th Annual MESSIAH at St. Theresa’s: 7:00pm, $15-$30. This production is a celebration of the holidays and includes favorite selections from Messiah Parts One and Three and seasonal carols that the audience will be most welcome to join in singing. December 19th-31st Heavenly Holidays at Heavenly Village: Celebrate 12 days of festivities with everything from professional ice sculptors, carolers, local artists and a 16-foot interactive snow globe where kids can get their photos taken with Santa. It all ends with the New Year’s Celebration, featuring ice sculptors, an outdoor concert, fire dancers and a 9:00 pm ball drop and fireworks show. For more info, click here.

December 19th Cheap Trick At Harrah’s Tahoe: 7:30pm, $44.95. Known for their big hits “Surrender”, “I Want You to Want Me”, “Dream Police” and “The Flame”. this group has been well known since the 70’s and is not to be missed. For more info, click here.

December 29th-31st SnowGlobe at Lake Tahoe Community College: This weekend long event combines the world’s best musicians with the world’s best snow conditions. For more info, click here.

December 30th The Weight at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe: 7:30pm, $27.52. The Weight is one of America’s most loved music institutions and will revisit the radio hits and deep tracks. For more info, click here.

December 31st Heavenly Holidays New Years Eve Party: 6:00pm-9:00pm, free. Heavenly Holidays will finish out 2015 with a  New Year’s Eve full of fire, lights and music fill the air. The Fire Groove fire dancers will be adeptly twirling rings of flame, while a photo booth, games and face-painting will be open to all.
